Job Description

The UX/UI Designer plays a pivotal role in driving Craft’s strategic collaborations by engaging with product managers, business leaders, and internal clients to deliver an engaging user experience with our products. The UX/UI Designer will have an influence in strategic decisions, road mapping, and design processes from the ground up and play a key role in building a design culture, advocating for user-centered design, and driving innovation in our digital experiences. Innovation, design, and functionality are key components to the success of this role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Create visually impressive UX and UI designs for web desktop, responsive, and mobile applications.
  • Drive and apply design processes.
  • Understand the user-base who will be working on the application and design the UX and UI accordingly.
  • Quickly create mockups, prototypes, and wireframes that reflect the business needs.
  • Build finished screens using the developed prototypes that can be re-used across multiple lines of business.
  • Rapidly produce multiple possible approaches for internal use, usability testing, presentation to customers, and demos.
  • Create web and mobile optimized graphics as needed by various team members.
  • Lead/participate in brainstorming sessions to elicit business requirements by talking to stakeholders.
  • Maintain an appropriate balance between performance and content delivery.
  • Apply best-practice UX and UI design skills to create proof-of-concepts, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Work with other developers to ensure technical feasibility of designs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design principles
  • Understanding of HTML 4/5 and CSS 2/3 as it applies across different browsers and screen resolutions.
  • Expert in visual graphic design and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Mastery over Color Theory, Typography, Layout/Composition, grid systems, animation/transitions
  • Very good understanding of Data Visualization and Data representation
  • Proven ability to artistically conceptualize a multi-product UI framework.
  • Ability to implement high performance and high availability web applications.
  • Solid communication skills, including the ability to initiate and run meetings and comfortable working with different teams within the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and a feeling of pride and ownership over the quality of our product.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as: Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Invision, etc.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow oral, written and verbal instructions in English
  • Outstanding design shown in a portfolio that demonstrates the required skills.
  • Experience in UI design for high performance/high availability web and mobile applications.
  • Experience in designing User Interfaces for Enterprise scale products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • May have broad knowledge of project management.
  • Strong portfolio work showing excellence in design and functionality; heavy consideration given to candidates showing strength in portfolio-work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Work Location

Work location is determined by role and business needs. In addition to our headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT, we have several satellite locations across the US. Senior leadership, administrative functions, and technology teams are typically assigned to work in one of our office locations. While this position will begin with a Remote/Work-From-Home designation, this position will be required to work "In-Office" once the dedicated space in Nashville, TN is opened.

Position & Application Details
