The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, developing, analyzing, testing, and implementing software for operating or application systems. They communicate project information to the client, the project manager, or other design personnel involved in the project. They maintain good working relationships with clients and staff. They write and maintain complete documentation. They support team members and ensure established goals and deadlines are met. They keep management informed of status and significant problems.
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop web applications and web services using Java, SOAP, REST, XML, HTTP, and other web technologies.
Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments; excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses.
Deliver high-quality projects on time through the ability to design architecture, write high-quality code, and execute effective unit tests.
Optimize performance tuning for high utilization 24x7 access.
Integrate third-party products with existing infrastructure.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self-managed and team-based Agile projects.
Work with internal customers to gather business processes and project requirements.
Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications.
Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate third-party systems
Work across front-end and back-end technologies, including React, Node.js, and Angular
Deliver high-quality solutions through strong architectural design, clean coding practices, and effective testing
Optimize performance for high-availability, enterprise-scale systems
Analyze software requirements for feasibility within time and cost constraints
Maintain technical documentation and support team development efforts
Analyzes software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of the overall system.
Formulates and designs software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned.
Updates technical skills as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Extensive experience as a Staff or Senior Software Engineer.
Strong full-stack development experience in enterprise environments.

Proficiency in Java and at least one modern front-end or backend technology:
React
Node.js
Angular
Experience working in complex, enterprise-scale systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical decisions.
Ability to operate beyond individual contributor responsibilities at a staff level.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cloud-Native Development, and/or Porting/Refactoring of On-Site to Cloud (preferably AWS)
Experience with Kubernetes and/or Kafka.
Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, or similar frameworks.
Experience working closely with architecture teams.
Ability to adapt from Java-centric backgrounds to modern full-stack ecosystems.
CI/CD experience using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle.
Legacy system integration experience.
Experience in architecting, implementing, and managing enterprise-level contact center solutions.
Experience with distance education and distance learning students
Technical Certifications.
Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
