About the Team/Role

We are the Core Information Delivery team, providing core reporting frameworks for WEX’s industry-leading fuel card platform. We are redefining monolithic reporting interfaces by modularization and microservices with APIs for both internal and external customers, and we're focused at modernization and ci/cd deployments.


As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you will be designing, developing, testing and maintaining our core reporting stack deployed as a cloud-native solution. You'll work with a modern tech stack in containerization, Kafka event streams, ETL using Informatica cloud, and APIs written in python and also partake in full cycle migration efforts from perl to python. Experience you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Good experience with software development experience using Agile practices and methodology.

  • Experience developing and supporting cloud-based infrastructure as code.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Plus

  • Experience with core Python using Object-oriented implementations and adhering to PEP-8 standards.

  • Strong sql understanding and ability to follow pl/sql blocks and procedures.

  • Experience with Kafka streaming.

  • Good understanding of API implementations and microservice architecture.

  • Experience with automated deployment pipelines.

  • Examples of passion projects or contributions to open-source projects.

  • Ability to use AI-assisted conversion from legacy stacks to python.

  • Experience with ETL pipelines.

  • Own complete development cycle including testing and release coordination.

  • Passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow.
