At Flowise, our team is dedicated to simplifying the creation of AI solutions. Our low-code platform makes it easy to build powerful chatbots and autonomous agents. By abstracting complex frameworks into intuitive visual components, we enable users to create sophisticated AI workflows without extensive coding knowledge.

With Workday's recent acquisition, we will provide customers with an easy-to-use platform to quickly and responsibly build and deploy AI agents for HR and finance. This partnership also empowers partners to build faster, expand their offerings, and deliver quicker value to shared customers.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer who is a problem-solver at heart. You should love tackling challenging problems, developing creative solutions, and guiding your teammates. This role is for a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to ship customer value early and often.

You will:

· Lead Backend Development: You'll take the lead in designing and developing the backend systems for the Flowise application. This involves writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code for the server, APIs, and data models to ensure high-quality software development.

· Improve and Execute: Make Flowise the best visual low-code tool for building AI agents by helping to improve our backend services across our open-source, cloud, and enterprise versions. Latency, stability, developer experience, test coverage.

· Collaborate and Implement: Partner with leaders and teams across various departments including frontend, product to identify backend software requirements and implement effective solutions.

· Drive Code Quality: Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor other engineers to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the backend team.

· Navigate Ambiguity: Proactively identify and resolve issues within the backend systems to ensure optimal functionality. You'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity to turn hard backend problems into clear solutions through reasoning and research.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with our core stack: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, React, Express, Turbo (Flowise is a monorepo)

  • 4+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or other RDBMS, along with a strong understanding of performance optimization and scaling strategies.

Other Qualifications

  • Experienced in API design, architecting backend systems, database modelling, OOP, ERD diagrams.

  • Experienced in building and operating SaaS products in cloud environments (AWS preferred)

  • Experienced in the technologies and tradeoffs involved in building modern distributed systems

  • Advanced knowledge of modern software development practices (devops, automated testing, observability, etc)

  • Proficient in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Successful track record of operating as part of multi-functional teams in fast-paced, agile environments

  • Highly effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity to turn hard problems into clear and compelling solutions through reasoning and research

  • Eager to work openly and collaboratively with a diverse team


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
