About the Team
The Globalization team is a central driver for our company’s international expansion, using a technology-first approach to ensure our products and services are accessible and culturally relevant for customers across the globe. We serve as the Center of Excellence, partnering with product and engineering teams from initial concept to launch. We are dedicated to building a scalable, resilient globalization infrastructure. If you thrive at the intersection of software engineering, linguistic assets, and global product strategy, you'll find your home here.About the Role
This role is crucial to scale our product’s global reach. It requires a dedicated engineer to proactively embed localization guidelines and automation into our core product development lifecycle, eliminating technical debt and ensuring Day 0 readiness for all new features and markets. This is a highly technical, multi-functional role that directly impacts our time-to-market for international releases.
Design and implement tooling and automation to integrate localization processes directly within our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines.
Develop the pseudo-localization framework and automated QA tools to catch layout, rendering, and string-handling defects early.
Build and maintain test automation scripts for Localization Quality Assurance checks, focusing on dynamic UI content and visual consistency across locales.
Collaborate with product managers and engineers during the design phase to implement internationalization (i18n) standards and prevent localization issues before code is written.
About You
8+ years of professional experience in a Software Engineering or highly technical Localization Engineering role within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
Deep expertise in internationalization guidelines and standards (Unicode, ICU Message-Format, bi-directional text support).
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate complex technical issues.
Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Hands-on experience working with a Translation Management System and its APIs.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in Cypress and Selenium to drive the browser, navigate, and control the LQA test flow.
Fluency in associated programming languages (Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript) to author robust test scripts.
Validated experience integrating and using specialized AI visual testing tools (Applitools, Ghostinspector, or similar) with automation frameworks. This is essential for performing AI-based, non-pixel-by-pixel comparisons for efficient automated qualitative UI/UX checks.
Strong understanding of how to programmatically switch the application's locale, language, and regional settings (comparable to Workday systems) for each test run to ensure accurate testing under varying global conditions.
Other Qualifications
Capability to integrate the test framework with defect trackers, most importantly Jira, (including Excel or potentially GitHub), to automatically generate detailed bug tickets with all required artifacts (screenshots, video links, locale name) upon test failure.
Experience in designing, maintaining, and reviewing comprehensive Localization Test Cases and test plans that cover functional, linguistic, and cosmetic requirements across all supported locales.
Familiarity with the processes involved in working with Language Service Providers, including managing test hand-offs, validating reported bugs, and providing clear feedback on quality metrics.
Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
