Workday's Agent Platform team is at the forefront of our AI innovation, building the foundation that enables intelligent, agentic experiences across the entire Workday ecosystem. We're a fast-moving team tackling some of the most exciting challenges in enterprise software, unleashing the future of work with an AI foundation that accelerates customer adoption and empowers developers to accelerate agent innovation with a secure & trusted platform.

About the Role

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to design key infrastructure for governing agents to ensure they are secure and trustworthy at scale. Your focus: architecting the next generation of agent security and the evolution of agent tools management. How do we make it easy for developers to build secured, governed agents and customers to manage access controls?

This role demands velocity, curiosity about AI security, and the ability to translate complex technical problems into product solutions that give enterprises confidence to adopt agentic AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and ship state-of-the-art AI infrastructure that enables trusted agent deployment

  • Identify highest impact, highest ROI opportunities for AI at Workday, advocate for them within the org, and build or enable other teams to build these capabilities.

  • Interface with customers to validate our solutions, execute discovery work and ensure we are prioritizing the right customer problems

  • Be the product champion externally, and voice of the customer internally

  • Lead through influence and apply strategic understanding of the company's big picture, articulating a compelling vision for AI agents and their role in evolving our customers' workdays.

  • Manage customer validation programs across multiple AI initiatives to ensure customer value, referenceability, critical lessons, and risk mitigation

  • Collaborate with development teams in flight to validate value for customers, drive adoption, and enable the field, CX, implementers on our Agent Platform

  • Communicate new capabilities to various audiences clearly and in an understandable way for them

About You

Basic Qualifications for Principal Product Manager

  • 11+ years of product management experience

  • 5+ years of experience with SaaS/B2B

  • Technically proficient (even if not a coder) with AI and LLM-powered technology

Basic Qualifications for Senior Product Manager

  • 8+ years of product management experience

  • 5+ years of experience with SaaS/B2B

  • Technically proficient (even if not a coder) with AI and LLM-powered technology

Other Qualifications:

  • Passion and empathy for customers and a proven track record as a customer advocate

  • Mastery in leading Cross-Team Collaboration, effectively working and influencing cross-functionally to define and deliver complex product strategies and initiatives.

  • Proven ability to be a visionary Customer Advocate, deeply understanding and anticipating customer needs in product strategy and decisions, and driving a customer-obsessed culture throughout the organization

  • Deep mastery of Customer Empathy, proactively identifying fundamental customer pain points and translating them into transformative product strategies and innovative user experiences

  • Exceptional Strategic Thinking skills, shaping the long-term vision and direction of a product portfolio or business unit

  • Ability to operate successfully across multiple functions, influence senior executives and peers alike, and mediate across various partners

  • Good communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal

You’ll be a great fit (and make sure to highlight these experiences to us) if:

  • You are passionately following the latest in AI products and emerging technologies and trying them out, exploring possibilities, and have experimented with many of the technologies on your own

  • You have a bias for action and progress

  • You are organized and capable of tracking dozens of moving pieces and managing the many stakeholders that you work with at a company like Workday

  • You excel at learning and understanding customer pain points quickly based on public information, internal information, and customer conversations, and can get up to speed on complex customer pain points in a fraction of the time a typical PM would


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $162,800 CAD - $244,200 CAD


Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $167,200 USD - $294,000 USD

Additional Considerations:

If performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is $176,000 - $264,000 USD based on min and max pay range for that role if performed in CO.
