Senior Product Data Analyst
Adyen is looking for a Senior Product Data Analyst to join the Customer Experience data team. You will join our mission to deliver proactive, data-informed insights to the Onboarding & Lifecycle product team, driving improvements that directly impact our (sub)merchants’ success.
As the first team member based in Chicago, you will serve as the critical bridge between our North American product stakeholders and our core data team in Amsterdam. This role demands a high degree of autonomy, technical excellence, and a business-impact-first mindset to thrive as a self-starter in a high-growth environment.
In this senior role, you will leverage and extend our analytical data stack, collaborating with a predominantly Chicago and Amsterdam based network of Data Engineers, Analysts, Product Specialists, and Developers. You aren't just a technical Analyst; you are an analytics evangelist who translates complex data into recommendations and compelling narratives that shape the future of our Onboarding & Lifecycle products.
What you’ll do
- Data informed influencing: Transform complex findings of a complex product space into concise, actionable advice. You don’t just report data, you connect it to a story that influences strategy and drives Product roadmap decision-making.
- Continuous performance optimization: Proactively conduct deep-dive analyses to optimize product performance and elevate the customer experience, ensuring our customers’ onboarding journey is seamless.
- Autonomous collaboration: You’ll work autonomously and closely with Chicago-based Product Managers and Engineers to support and positively influence product decisions based on your analyses.
- Domain expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of Adyen’s Onboarding, KYC, Contracting and account lifecycle product space.
- Technical excellence: You are a master of Airflow, ETLs, PySpark, Looker. You will work both autonomously and jointly on our analytics layer with the Amsterdam team.
- Data enablement: Design and build easy to consume dashboards and self-serve data solutions that empower internal stakeholders to make data-driven decisions at scale.
Who you are
- Experience: You have at least 7+ years of working experience as a data analyst, preferably within a Customer Experience and Onboarding domain.
- Master storyteller: You possess an outstanding ability to distill complex datasets into "so-what" insights, delivering clear, high-impact recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Technically autonomous: You are technically autonomous and a critical thinker to push beyond what’s requested to find the “why”.
- Bridge builder: You strike an excellent balance between deep technical execution and product intuition.
- BI builder: Strong development experience with BI tools, Looker specifically; Mixpanel is a plus.
- Python and SQL expert: Strong in writing performant Python and SQL queries to deliver ad-hoc data needs quickly. PySpark or Pandas experience is a must, and PostgreSQL and TrinoSQL experience is a plus.
- Data engineer lite: You are an experienced user of Airflow for orchestration and PySpark or Pandas for data processing. You have the technical grit to extend our analytical data stack and the architectural "know-how" (Hadoop/Jupyter) to troubleshoot and build autonomously.
