In Microsoft's German Automotive Team, you will work with a customer that is transforming its business, factories, products, services, and operating models through cloud, data, security, and AI. You will join a team that is continuously curious, learns from others, and collaborates across boundaries to bring Microsoft and our partner ecosystem to the customer.

As a Global Account Technology Strategist, you will lead technology engagement across the customer's factories, business departments, and key global regions. In partnership with the Account Executive, you will motivate internal virtual teams and partners to build a shared strategic framework, translate business priorities into a technology strategy and roadmap, and help the customer securely adopt Microsoft technologies. You will combine automotive and manufacturing insight with broad knowledge of Microsoft's portfolio to challenge assumptions, identify transformational opportunities, and become a trusted technology advisor to technical and business decision makers.

Responsibilities
  • Synthesize customer, automotive, manufacturing, competitor, and market insights to develop recommendations, identify account risks, challenge customer thinking, and address broader transformational business needs across countries and regions.

  • Act as the customer's technology mentor and trusted advisor, providing account thought leadership across technology, business strategy, security, and the landscape while coaching Microsoft teams and connecting customer feedback to Product and Engineering.

  • Create security thought leadership with technical and business decision makers, using Microsoft Security and Zero Trust narratives to position security as a business enabler, strengthen the customer's security posture, and orchestrate execution through specialists.

  • Lead analysis of customer needs, outcomes, blockers, and stakeholders, and create multi-horizon technology and business roadmaps that translate customer objectives into an effective industry technology architecture, solution priorities, and adoption plan.

  • Create and drive opportunities through Microsoft's customer engagement process, lead joint envisioning with the customer and partners, and orchestrate Account Executives, Specialist Teams, Customer Success, Engineering, and partners to qualify demand, maintain momentum, and resolve technical blockers.

  • Lead the customer's journey into the era of AI and industrial transformation by defining foundational technology priorities, building near- and mid-term opportunity plans, and aligning cloud, data, AI, industrial metaverse, and consumption-focused solution plays.

  • Own the technical portion of the account plan, including stakeholder mapping, coverage, partner strategy, consumption goals, forecasting, and execution across complex technologies, functions, geographies, factories, and business departments. Lead executive briefings, enablement, skilling, and customer reference activities.



Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND several years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience;

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Several years of experience in a relevant customer industry, preferably Automotive or Manufacturing.

  • Experience translating customer business objectives and technical requirements into technology strategy, architecture, roadmaps, demand-generation plans, and measurable customer outcomes.

  • Business fluency in German and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Several years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience within complex global customer environments.

  • Several years of experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

  • Experience leading global virtual teams, working with partner ecosystems, advising senior technical and business decision makers, and influencing without direct authority.

  • Knowledge of automotive transformation, AI, cloud, data, security, Zero Trust, industrial metaverse, manufacturing operations, and the competitive technology landscape.

In line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Germany, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.

This role should be based in Munich region, Germany. Due to business and customer engagement requirements, candidates are expected to work from the Munich area.


Strategic Account Technology IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 81,500.00 - € 139,200.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
