Applications are invited for a full time junior or assistant Research Scientist position in a well-funded laboratory at the New York University, New York, USA. The laboratory is highly focused on studying succinate signaling in health and disease. The related work has been published in Nature Communications and Cell Reports. Studies from the group suggested a central role of succinate signaling via its receptor as well as an intermediate metabolite in the interplay among microbiota, metabolism and host immune response in oral cavity, gut, and bone in pathological conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis. We are seeking creative and highly motivated individuals who wants to work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary research environment and gain experiences valuable to both academics and industries.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $49,000 - $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a PhD in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology or a related field or MD/PhD degree with less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience. Preferred expertise includes animal handling and injections (such as oral gavage and lntracerebroventricular injection), primary cultures, quantitative data analysis, biochemistry and cell biology techniques related to host immune response and/or neurophysiology. Excellent experimental, scientific writing and organization skills; familiarity with animal models including tissue specific transgenic mice ; ability to communicate scientific materials and work well in a collaborative environment.
