PART TIME RESEARCH TECHNICIAN

New York University Tandon School of Engineering

The Mechatronics Laboratory at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Part Time Research Technician to work with Prof. Vikram Kapila.

Research in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering includes robotics and automation, additive manufacturing, nanotechnology and materials engineering, computational engineering, biomechanics, and healthcare applications.

Expectations:

  • Equipment testing

  • Assessing the applicability of equipment for future research work

  • Overseeing the transfer of equipment to a new location

  • Supervising and mentoring at least one graduate student assistant

Expected start date and period of employment

Expected start date is February 1, 2025. This position is expected to be for 2 months. Part time appointments would require a work schedule of approximately 10 hours per week.

Salary range:

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate will be $30/hour depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechatronics as demonstrated by a publication record

  • Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States
