Job Summary:
● Provide comprehensive support to faculty in the Department of Art History, particularly in the development and use of digital tools and interactive mapping platforms. Responsibilities include:
● Assisting with data collection and data management (e.g., historical records, structured datasets)
● Contributing to web-based and interactive research methods for visualizing historical networks
● Helping to maintain and refine open datasets and metadata standards
● Collaborating closely with project teams to ensure effective integration of digital research tools into broader scholarly initiatives
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $18/hr - $30/hr for approximately 20 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
● Required Education: MS
● Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant research or technical experience, with a general expectation of at least 2 years at the associate rank
● Demonstrated proficiency in web-based or data-driven research methods (e.g., JavaScript, interactive interfaces, data visualization) is preferred
● Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a research setting
