Description
The part-time assistant research scientist will join an active neuroscience research laboratory to support ongoing projects in brain science. This part-time position is designed for undergraduate students interested in neuroscience, psychology, biology, or related fields, offering hands-on experience in experimental research, data management, and laboratory operations under the supervision of experienced researchers.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with data collection, including behavioral testing, neuroimaging (e.g., EEG, fNIRS), or other laboratory protocols as required by specific projects.
Perform data entry, pre-processing, and management in accordance with lab protocols, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Help prepare experimental materials, set up equipment, and maintain laboratory supplies.
Contribute to literature reviews and background research for ongoing projects.
Attend lab meetings, seminars, and professional development workshops as appropriate.
Participate in the preparation of presentations or reports summarizing research findings.
Adhere to ethical guidelines, safety protocols, and institutional policies for research involving human or animal subjects.
Approximate 20 hours/week
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is $18.00/hr. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled undergraduate in a degree program majoring in Neuroscience or similar field
