Description

The Trope Lab, directed by Dr. Yaacov Trope in the Department of Psychology at New York University, invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist (Part-Time Non-exempt) position beginning May 2025.

The Associate Research Scientist will play a key role in supporting ongoing research in social and cognitive psychology. Primary responsibilities include:

- Designing and conducting behavioral studies

- Managing and analyzing complex datasets

- Contributing to manuscript preparation and scholarly publications

- Collaborating with lab members, including PhD students and research assistants

This is a non-student, professional research position open to qualified applicants regardless of institutional affiliation. It is not limited to NYU students and is intended for individuals with a completed PhD in Social Psychology or a closely related field.

Salary:

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $26-30/hr for 20 hours per week. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

- A PhD in Social Psychology or a closely related field (required)

- Strong statistical and data analysis skills, particularly in R

- Demonstrated experience with experimental design and manuscript writing

- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
