The Biofeedback Intervention Technology for Speech (BITS) Lab is seeking a part-time researcher with previous experience in acoustic processing of speech data to assist with externally funded speech production research.
The BITS Lab conducts research on the efficacy of acoustic and ultrasound biofeedback in the treatment of residual speech sound disorder. The Lab, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), works in collaboration with the Center for Practice and Research at the Intersection of Information, Society, and Methodology (PRIISM).
The associate research scientist will contribute to post-processing and measurement of audio files resulting from experimental data collection. They will supervise student workers in annotating audio records of speech data, including preparing files for students to annotate and conducting quality assurance checks of student work. In addition, the research assistant may support the preparation of presentations and manuscripts.
This is a mostly remote position with minimal in-person interaction is required and can be performed remotely >60% of the time (i.e., more than 3 days per week)
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $26.00 - $28.50 New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
