The Social Science Experimental Laboratory (SSEL), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Associate, who is expected to work full-time on collaborative research with Professor John Wooders on human-machine interaction, on collaborative research with the members of the SSEL Executive Board, and contribute to maintaining the hardware and software infrastructure of the SSEL lab. The position holder will join an exceptionally vibrant community of economists, sociologists, and political scientists using experimental methods to do cutting-edge research.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold a PhD in Economics or Computer Science.
- Requires expertise in experimental methods, and especially the experimental study of human-machine interaction.
- Must be ambitious, well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, equally capable of working alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills in English, scientific creativity, and the desire to work in multidisciplinary teams are also essential.
The appointment will be for three years, but is potentially renewable based upon staffing needs, availability of funding, and satisfactory performance evaluation. This position will be based at New York University in Abu Dhabi, and the candidate must be ready to relocate to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The terms of employment are competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children.
