Description
The Assistant Research Scientist, part-time non-exempt, will be assisting with research and curation projects with the CPRC-NYU skeletal collection of rhesus macaques from Cayo Santiago, Puerto Rico, housed in the Department of Anthropology. Specific responsibilities include curating and 3D scanning the primate skeletal collection.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $28-$32 per hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
The preferred start date is January 21. The position is for 4 months at 20 hours per week.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has prior experience working in osteology, curation, 3D scanning, and coordinating students working in an anthropological research environment.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Anthropology preferred
