Description

The Associate Research Scholar will assist with digital communications, content management, and project coordination for the International Nitrogen Network (iN-Net). Responsibilities described below.

Responsibilities

A. Website and Content Management

Maintain and update the iN-Net website, including blog posts, publications, and working group pages

Upload and format new content, including reports, briefs, and announcements

Ensure content is clear, accurate, and accessible to diverse audiences

B. Communications and Social Media

Manage and update iN-Net’s social media, including LinkedIn, Bluesky, and YouTube

Support efforts to grow iN-Net’s online following and engagement

Draft and schedule posts highlighting research outputs, events, and opportunities

C. Research Outputs and Publications

Assist in the coordination and publication of iN-Net outputs, including the planned iN-Net Briefs series

Support editing, formatting, and posting of short policy-focused briefs on nitrogen-related topics

D. Meetings and Events

Assist with planning and coordination of meetings, webinars, conferences, and other events

Provide logistical support such as scheduling, agenda preparation, and follow-up communications

E. Multimedia Support (as feasible)

Assist with editing short promotional videos (e.g., program recruitment or event highlights), if skills and capacity allow

Position expectations
The start date is on or around March, 1, 2026. This is a part-time position (10 hours per week). This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $30. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of

Qualifications

Required qualifications

Strong written communication skills, including the ability to translate scientific information for policy audiences and vice versa

Working knowledge of environmental issues, particularly nitrogen-related topics

Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently

Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred skills

Experience with Squarespace or similar website platforms

Basic video editing skills

Familiarity with science communication, policy
