NVIDIA is searching for a Senior Deep Leaning AI Engineer to develop artificial intelligence, computer vision algorithms, and foundation model applications for our Metropolis for Factories and Manufacturing platforms. Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we collect, inspect, and analyze sensor data that impacts everything from manufacturing automation, warehouse management, product inspections to safety workflows. NVIDIA Metropolis is leading this AI revolution, providing the tools, technologies, and expertise to meet every challenge with smarter, faster applications.

This challenging role will require someone who deeply understands and can architect algorithms with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to advance the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to the Manufacturing AI market. Practical experience in building and deploying foundation models for computer vision and video analytics applications will be critical.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Define and lead the technical vision for foundation model applications (LLMs, VLMs, multi-modal models) in manufacturing AI, driving the research agenda for industrial automation

  • Research, develop, and prototype state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms for industrial computer vision, video understanding, and anomaly detection - from concept to production deployment

  • Partner with strategic customers and ISV partners to co-develop and validate AI solutions in real-world manufacturing environments, ensuring production-grade quality

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with NVIDIA Research, software teams, and product teams to shape the future of Metropolis manufacturing AI platform

  • Drive thought leadership through academic publications, patents and conference presentations advancing industrial AI

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, establishing best practices and building technical capabilities

What We Need To See:

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with focus on Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or Machine Learning

  • 8+ years of industry experience in deep learning algorithm development, with demonstrated expertise in production-scale AI systems

  • Proven track record of technical leadership on complex AI projects from research to deployment

  • Deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs), including architecture understanding, fine-tuning, and deployment

  • Experience with manufacturing AI applications: synthetic data generation, quality inspection, defect detection, video analytics, or industrial automation

  • Strong communication skills with ability to present to executives, customers, and at industry conferences

  • Track record of mentoring engineers and building technical capabilities within teams

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

  • Publications at top AI venues (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV) or significant open-source contributions

  • Patents or demonstrated innovation in AI algorithm design

  • Experience building or deploying LLM/VLM-based applications in production industrial environments
