We are now hiring a Senior System Software Engineer for Linux Kernel development, with focus on Automotive Functional Safety and Security. This world-class engineer will join the Tegra system software team. This position will be part of an exciting team that develops and maintains systems software for complex heterogeneous computing systems that power innovative automotive products. Our offerings to the automotive industry begin with navigation and infotainment systems, back seat entertainment systems, instrument clusters and expand into the exciting field of autonomous computing, and self-driving cars. The Tegra system software team plays a vital role in realizing the vision behind these products by building core technologies and platform solutions that are not only competitive, but industry-first.
What you’ll be doing:
We are looking for a Senior System Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and integration of embedded software on Tegra SoC–based products. In this role, you will
Develop and enhance embedded software for NVIDIA Tegra SoC platforms and perform all tasks in accordance with safety and security standard(ISO-2626, ISO-21434, ASPICE)
Work on Linux kernel device drivers, hardware configuration, subsystem bring‑up, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with the Linux kernel and open‑source communities to design and develop embedded software.
Take part in building a robust Linux kernel testing ecosystem, leveraging upstream frameworks such as LTP, KUnit, Kernel Self tests, and Syzkaller to strengthen test coverage, reduce regressions, and improve overall software reliability.
Contribute to the NVIDIA DriveOS software platform and participate in full lifecycle system development.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to understand software use cases, requirements, and integration needs.
What we need to see:
BTech/MS/MTech in Electronics or Computer Science Engineering
5+ years of software development experience focused significantly on Linux kernel or driver development
Strong C programming and debugging expertise
Solid understanding of processor architecture, OS fundamentals, and systems‑level programming
Ability to work effectively in a multinational, multi‑time‑zone environment
Experience with designing and development, high performance in accordance with functional safety and cybersecurity standards: ISO-26262, ISO-21434
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
Basic scripting skills (Python, Shell, Perl, etc.)
