Data Center Engineer

The Data Center Engineer will be part of the international Infrastructure Engineering Services team, and will provide support to enterprise class data center environments in multiple locations. Some cases in person, but some cases via remotely managed contractor resources in different countries.
This includes the installation and maintenance of enterprise servers, storage and networking hardware, cabling, shipping and shipment receiving, and managing inventory of hardware items.
This position requires someone that can work independently on assigned tasks as well as interact with multiple internal managed services groups and external hardware vendors, and be available for on call duty
Travel within Stockholm is required to our data centers.

We are looking for a Data Center Engineer in Stockholm, Sweden.
Career Level - IC2
Responsibilities include:
Installing and cabling switches, servers, and appliances in multiple data center locations (in person or via contractors).
Facilitating installation of servers and network equipment in multiple data center locations (in person or via contractors).
Managing power and space including monitoring and capacity planning.
Maintaining a consistent and clean cable management.
Managing cable and equipment inventory.
Replacing hard drives/memory/etc. and other hardware related tasks as required by our server, storage, and network teams.
Assisting with planning moves or new buildouts.
Getting equipment to and from remote locations including packing/shipping.
Maintaining data center documentation.
Triage hardware, related issues in association with central infrastructure and technology teams.
Participate in the process and productivity initiatives related to central infrastructure services.
Perform work in non-routine and complex projects, involving the application of technical skills.
Deliver projects on time and with a high degree of quality.
May handle heavy equipment from time to time with assistance from contractors onsite
Ability to be on call duty on rotation
Qualifications:
2-4 years of previous experience working as a data center engineer
Previous experience working with an organization operating a 24 X 7 mission critical data center
Ability to identify basic parts of network equipment – SFPs, line cards, chassis.
Ability to identify basic parts of servers – memory, network card, hard drives, etc.
Knowledge of structured cabling systems both copper and fiber.
Familiarity with both power and communications cabling standards.
Experience configuring and using cable testers for both fiber and copper to troubleshoot cabling issues.
Possess domain experience in multiple areas such as database, applications, servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and production environment administration including clustering, redundancy, and scalability.
A strong understanding of change control processes.
Fluent in English
Robust documentation skills with high attention to detail
