We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Product Manager in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Define and manage the roadmap for payments platform capabilities, collaborating with engineering and business teams to deliver solutions that drive adoption, enhance user experiences, and ensure reliability at scale. Work on cutting-edge payment technologies and shape the future of PayPal payments infrastructure. Serve as subject matter expert in addressing global payment needs and ensuring seamless integration with internal and external systems. Supervise and direct the engineering of local and alternative payment solutions, card networks, and banking payment features. Build payments orchestration platforms, tokenization capabilities, and backend systems. Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to deliver technical solutions. Research emerging technologies to design solutions that address regional variations in payment needs, regulatory requirements, and cultural preferences. Define the Platform Requirements and work closely with Engineering for the successful launch of the capabilities within the budget and timeline. Prioritize the requirements and work closely with engineering every sprint, define KPIs and evaluate individual and team performance at each project checkpoint to ensure timely progress and alignment with project budget. Coach the team with best practices, delegate assignments, and collaborate with Payment Processors and third-party banking sources to ensure compliance with the timeline of deliverables. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering Management, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Experience working with risk, legal, privacy, and compliance teams to design and implement secure, compliant workflows (4 years)

2. Experience working with online and in-person checkout experiences, digital wallets, and payment systems (5 years)

3. Experience working with global regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, PSD2, and AML/KYC requirements (5 years)

4. Experience in building and scaling payments orchestration platforms, including integration with card networks and local/alternative payment methods (5 years)

5. Experience collaborating with third party digital wallets, payment processors, banking partners, and third-party vendors for integration and compliance (4 years)

6. Experience defining platform requirements, writing functional/technical specifications, and collaborating with engineering teams for delivery (5 years)

7. APIs, automation tools, and backend systems related to onboarding and customer provisioning (5 years)

8. Experience with agile development methodologies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and KPI-driven delivery (5 years)

9. Experience in transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and dispute resolution systems within large-scale payment platforms (3 years)

10. Experience in designing and managing tokenization, encryption, and payment security frameworks (3 years)

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range:

San Jose, California | Salary: $181,293.00-270,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
