Job Summary:

The US Healthcare Analyst is responsible for providing analytical insights and management for healthcare programs and initiatives. This position will support the US Healthcare & Well-Being Programs team, reporting directly to the Manager, Healthcare Analytics. The role will partner with internal and external resources to design and execute complex analytical projects, to provide ongoing review of current healthcare programs, while evaluating future opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis of healthcare and prescription claims, health assessment data, and disease management programs

  • Coordinates with stakeholders, vendors, and benefits team members to complete analytical projects

  • Conducts regular analyses of demographics, industry trends, and program utilization

  • Evaluates market landscape, legislation and other trends, proactively bringing forward considerations and impacts to Disney

  • Reviews ongoing pharmacy and clinical program offerings for success and identifies future opportunities to address needs

  • Primary data consultant for supporting on-site medical centers and direct-contract healthcare agreements

  • Assists with benefit program plan design and cost sharing to evaluate market relevance and recommend changes

  • Reviews initiatives and data/financial modeling brought forward by vendors and consultants for feasibility, while making sure all factors were considered and auditing of data

  • Provides support for vendor relationships, financial reviews, contracting, operational decisions, benefits delivery models, vendor integration, data reviews, and other initiatives that arise

  • Implement and monitor outcomes of medication therapy management, including therapeutic optimization and digital solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with data analytics in an Employee Benefits, Human Resources, or Finance field in a complex organization

  • Demonstrated experience with actuarial projections and statistical forecasting processes with an understanding of financial aspects of benefits programs

  • Experience working with confidential data and protecting data confidentiality, including compliance with HIPAA, various data sharing agreements, NDA agreements and other contractual and legal requirements

  • Working knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and practices as well as familiarity with various other benefit types

  • Adept with MS Access, Excel, and other data management software, including ability to build and maintain custom database solutions to support ongoing analysis and reporting

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and project management software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including data visualization

  • Detail oriented and extremely high work ethic

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in decentralized matrix organization with colleagues at various levels

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Customer-focused and solutions oriented

  • High energy, self-starter accustomed to adapting to multiple competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP, Workday, and Tableau

  • Knowledge of health care provider networks, contract negotiation, and administration

  • Experience with data warehouse environments, including data maintenance and programming dashboards and reports

  • Working knowledge of medical claims coding processes

  • Experience with financial processes used in employee benefits accounting and budgeting, including calculations of savings models and Return on Investment (ROI)

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical, financial, business or actuarial field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

  • Enrolled Actuary

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MA, MPH, MS)

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or related certifications (Group Benefits Associate)


The hiring range for this position in California is $101,800.00-$124,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
