The Sr. Analyst, Portfolio Planning & Management sits under the Portfolio & Program Strategy team which has end to end ownership of the planning, funding, portfolio, and program management of critical initiatives. This role will report to the Manager, Portfolio Planning & Management.
This role is a Project Hire role with an estimated duration of 6 months
What You Will Do
As a Sr. Analyst, Portfolio Planning & Management, you will support the financial aspects of the Tech & Digital department, including monitoring departmental expenditures to ensure activities are completed within budgetary constraints. You will also focus on portfolio forecast planning, capacity planning, and prioritization. You will maintain reports and presentations for executive level communications and anticipate risks, impacts, and opportunities within the portfolio. This is a highly collaborative role where partnership with many technical and non-technical teams is essential. Additional responsibilities include:
Provide project forecast planning for large scale programs.
Partner with Finance to provide cause for change variances, assist in monthly/quarterly close procedures, and monthly/quarterly updates. Prepare reporting and financial analysis including explanations of variances to forecast, plan, and prior periods.
Consolidate, communicate, and partner with project, product, and portfolio teams to resolve variances across the planning cycle, escalating risk and highlighting opportunities when necessary.
Synthesize complex information into concise stories, identifying key themes and takeaways and present it to executives for decision-making.
Gather, analyze, and maintain reports for capacity planning, forecast rationalization and priorities.
Provide results for key financial activities such as Long-Term and Annual Plans. Assist in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Annual Capital Plan (ACP), and Long-Range Capital Plan (LRCP).
Support accurate inputs within the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system. Utilize financial systems and PPM tool to research and reconcile financial and resource allocation discrepancies.
Develop effective partnerships and collaborate with leads across departments. Identify and resolve issues in partnership with Planning, Delivery and/or Finance teams.
Track invoices, billings, and purchase orders. Liaise with Accounts Payable and vendors to rectify payment issues.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
Advanced knowledge in Excel.
Able to drive teams to meet deadlines and deliver under a dynamic business environment.
Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Experience partnering with multiple creative and technical teams.
Advanced skills in business communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
Proactive and resourceful when handling issues.
Negotiation and influencing skills.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Disney experience.
Experience with MyPPM Project Management Software.
Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
