We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
This role sits in the Disney Cruise Line organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Enterprise Technology and WDI from across the company.
The Systems Engineer (Server) will report to the Manager, Server Engineering
About The Role & Team:
The Disney Cruise Line Server Engineering Team is responsible for physical and virtual servers within the DCL Organizational unit. This includes both Windows and Linux servers along with Active Directory Support and Security Patching.
What You'll Do:
- Operational Support for compute, storage and data protection services
- Assist in creation, documentation and implementation of day-to-day operational procedures.
- Provide system reports on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.
- Remediate Identified Security Vulnerabilities
- Day to Day Support of Backups (Rubrik)
- Creates new user accounts, recovers lost passwords and keeps data secure
- Implements server maintenance standard operating procedures
- Diagnoses and repairs server malfunctions
- Provides management with regular reports
- Ensure SSL Certificates across multiple domains are renewed timely without outages
- Diagnose and repair system outages
- Triage and remediate security requirements across on-premises systems
- Participate as an on-call member providing operational support as part of a 24x7 team
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience
- A+ Certification or Equivalent
- Carries and maintains a relevant and up to date skill set in the areas of both Linux and x86 hardware technology
- Windows, Linux, VMware, clustering technologies, resilient infrastructure design and deployment and automation.
- Knowledge of storage/server virtualization platforms (NSX, VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Individual must be highly resourceful and independent with the ability to quickly learn multiple disciplines and achieve manufacturer certification levels
- Experience with CMDB systems such as Service-Now
- Availability for Shipboard and Dry Dock travel at times.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Directory Group Policy Expertise
- Automation Experience with Ansible or Python
- Containerization Experience (Docker or Kubernetes)
- AVI Load balance Experience
- Global On-Call Experience for Physical Server Support
- Experience and/or certifications in one or more: HP, Dell, EMC, Pure and/or Cisco storage and server solutions
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
