Job Description:

Lucasfilm Senior Financial Analyst role provides an interesting combination of detailed accounting and financial planning responsibilities. You would be responsible for the forecasting and budgeting processes while also ensuring clean accounting records, including preparation of journal entries. This individual will work both independently and closely with the Finance team on a daily basis and will be in constant communication with our operational teams to address their dynamic needs, develop insightful financial analyses to support decision-making, and provide accurate reporting.

We are looking for a detailed, analytical problem solver who enjoys juggling multiple responsibilities to join our team.

This role is considered Hybrid, which means the employee will work onsite in our San Francisco office and occasionally from home.

What you’ll do

  • Actively own and drive for results with the recurring forecast, Annual Operating Plan, and Long Range Plan, including data entry into TM1, budget reconciliations, and preparation of schedules, presentation slides, and other deliverables for assigned areas

  • Partner with operational department heads to build and review budgets, providing key insights and recommendations as well as detailed analysis of responsible areas for potential savings

  • Independently reconcile and summarize detailed project data from multiple sources

  • Proactively coordinate with Lucasfilm and Disney counterparts to ensure a timely quarter end close and submission of deliverables

  • Research and document variances and other deep insights between forecast and actual results

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations with the appropriate supporting documentation

  • Assist in detailed review of accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data and appropriate controls in place

  • Coordinate third party rebilling with Disney Studio accounting by collecting and reconciling project data within SAP and preparing invoice requests

  • Build and leverage professional network within Lucasfilm, Disney, and third party partners as needed to gather and provide financial information and analysis and achieve other goals and objectives

  • Support cost center managers with the purchasing process by providing coding, interfacing with Disney Procurement and monitoring goods receipts

  • Independently provide assistance in resolving inquiries for assigned functional areas and as a resource for other team members

  • Build financial models and develop reports based on the needs of executive management and incoming requests from other stakeholders

  • Identify needs and drive efforts for process improvements

  • Take on moderately complex to complex special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a broad accounting or finance role

  • Experience with major ERP accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and cloud-based productivity software (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, DocuSign, etc.)

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

  • Experience and proficiency with business planning software (TM1 a plus)

  • Prior experience supporting a retail business a plus

  • Comfortable with light desktop self-support (set up workstation/monitors, peripherals, initial troubleshooting, etc.)

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

The hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $113,200 to $138,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
