About the Role & Team
Would you enjoy collaborating closely with operators to create lifelong memories for Guests of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products? Are you naturally curious about understanding the “why” behind business performance?
As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Disney Stores North America (NAM) Finance team, you would get to analyze metrics and trends to understand business results. You would provide key input on forecast, projects and initiatives, designed to directly improve profitability and forecast accuracy. You would work closely with operations and business leaders and partners to make a difference.
What You Will Do
You would join a fast-paced finance team dedicated to impacting the Guest experience through strong partnering and creative analysis. Your purview could include the key components of the NAM Disney Store business including e-commerce, merchandise, marketing, store operations and Distribution Centers/Supply Chain
Every single day as a Senior Financial Analyst on Disney Stores Finance team is different! On any given day you might:
- Meet and collaborate with partners in the merchandise, store operations, marketing and Supply chain review financial results or to make changes to the operation
- Develop the financials for a quarterly forecast, an annual operating plan, or a long term plan
- Organize strong written and verbal communication that conveys data and analysis to partners at all levels, including Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents
- Develop cases for new business opportunities such as a new markets, product opportunities, ways to drive profitability and cost efficiencies
- Proactively analyze the business to showcase potential opportunities to improve business financial performance both from a revenue and cost perspective
- Own key components of the P&L from revenue, to variable margin flow through, and other key costs (e.g., COGS, Supply Chain, Shipping, Labor)
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience with statistical, financial, or strategic analysis
- Knowledge of forecasting and financial modeling, including proficiency in acquiring, organizing, and analyzing large amounts of data
- Proven experience in operating in a more ambiguous environment, but be able to proactively develop ideas and recommendations to improve reporting, key processes, and improving data acquisition and integrity
- The ability to explain complex analytics in a way that is easily understandable and executable, and enjoy “storytelling” to engage and influence your audience
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, and the ability to think holistically
- Natural curiosity and inquisitiveness, and enjoy solving problems
- The ability to work in a team environment, in person and virtually, with a positive demeanor
- The capability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in a quantitative field, an MBA, or a CPA
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and key systems (e.g., SAP, EDP, Cognos)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Knowledge of Disney experiences operations, business units, and product offerings, including merchandise or retails
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or equivalent substitute.
