As a critical part of our team, you will leverage your expertise to build and optimize feature-rich engines, ensuring smooth and high-performance experiences for global audiences.
As a Senior Tools Engineer you will design intuitive tools that empower artists and designers without requiring engineering support, collaborate with teams across games, animation, and interactive experiences to build robust pipelines. You will enable efficient content sharing between real-time and offline rendering pipelines (e.g., Unreal and USD), and own core components of the asset pipeline, from ingestion to deployment.
This role can be based remotely in Sweden, Denmark, Finland or Norway.

Integrate and support tools within Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).
Develop scalable systems to validate and optimize assets for multiple platforms.
Drive automation to reduce manual overhead and increase iteration speed.
Solve complex problems that intersect tech art, tooling, and engine infrastructure.
Partner closely with artists, designers, and technical directors across Disney divisions.
Help set technical direction for shared pipeline tools across multiple projects.
Foster cross-functional collaboration across geographically distributed teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience with DCC tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Blender) and their scripting APIs.
Knowledge of USD workflows, including real-time applications and film pipelines.
Familiarity with Unreal Engine tooling; editor scripting and Python.
Strong background in Python, C# or C++ for tool/pipeline development.
Understanding of content validation workflows (naming, LODs, memory budgets, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud-based asset pipelines or distributed workflows.
Collaboration-Driven – Values cross-disciplinary teamwork and thrives on enabling others to do their best work.
User-Focused – Builds tools with empathy for artists, designers, and content creators.
Proactive & Self-Directed – Takes initiative in identifying problems and proposing solutions.
Craftsmanship – Cares about maintainability, performance, and clean architecture in tools and pipelines.
Curious & Open-Minded – Eager to learn from diverse teams and explore new technologies or workflows.
Adaptable – Comfortable working across multiple domains, tools, and changing requirements.
Mentorship-Oriented – Shares knowledge freely and helps others grow, regardless of title or role.
Growth Mindset – Embraces feedback, iteration, and the process of continuous improvement.
Passionate About Creative Empowerment – Motivated by building systems that remove friction for storytellers and world-builders.
8-12 years of relevant experience
