We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
This role sits in the Connected Products organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with Disney Cruise Line and dev ops teams from across the company.
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Manager of Technology.
About The Role & Team:
The Connected Products team is responsible for a Global Platform for managing IoT Devices, Sensors, Toys and Media across the Parks and Cruise Line. We implement highly available, high-volumes services that deliver real-time integrations with partner teams across web, mobile, and in person to deliver personalized transactions and exciting interactive experiences. We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who wants to sustain and expand upon these critical services that support Guests experiencing the Disney Magic on both land and sea!
This is a Project Hire position estimated through September 2027 with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You'll Do:
Drive a DevOps culture among peers and developers
Design, build, and support of the Connected Products platform
Consult, design, build, and support development pipelines, automate infrastructure and operations, create telemetry for monitoring, engineer high reliability and reinforce best- practices to secure company data
Strong systems administration skills on Linux, Docker Containers, and AWS Deployments, and must have extensive experience with web technologies, source control management using Github, Gitlab, and Helm
Perform systems administration in Linux Containers and Kubernetes Clusters and bring knowledge on systems, network, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation
Sustain and manage the CICD pipelines of multiple Java-based applications and Angular single page applications
Monitor for vulnerabilities and enforce security policy across the development team
Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and defect remediation
You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of related work experience
Proficient in agile environments
Applied understanding of observability principles using relevant tools
Familiarity with commercial and open-source monitoring platforms
Hands-on experience with CI tools like Gitlab, AWS CodeBuild, Harness and Rancher
Proficient in configuration management tools: Terraform and Helm
Experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Java
Experience in procedural programming languages such as Python
Experience with MongoDB
Skilled in Cloud environments AWS and On-Prem Kubernetes
Collaborative in building reliable, scalable enterprise systems
Capable of identifying root causes in large-scale distributed systems
Proficient in Linux administration, troubleshooting, and security
Leading technical projects and ensuring smooth delivery
Collaborative work with Security Operations teams for secure solutions
Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, network, and code
Deep expertise and knowledge in the field
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Incident Response
Experience working on cross-team projects
An ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Strong communication skills and a desire to share and learn
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
