We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the Connected Products organization within DX Technology. It works closely with the Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World partners.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Manager, Technology.

About The Role & Team

This Engineer will be expected to play multiple critical roles for Disney Parks in regard to creation, implementation, and support of new IoT, Computer Vision and RF installations. This Engineer will work with business partners to perform site walks, work on installation recommendations, hardware layout, sustainment planning, and oversee installation. This includes tuning, configuration, and field support for each of these components to ensure success.

As part of the IoT installation, this Engineer will need to be able to help troubleshoot and navigate network issues at multiple layers with multiple teams managing the network equipment and firewalls. The Engineer should be able to troubleshoot these issues as part of installation and support. They should be able to understand and advise on basic topics from multiple disciplines of engineering.

What You'll Do:

  • Design complex sensor systems that fuse multiple protocols and technologies.
  • Consult on facility designs and equipment recommendations for new projects and retrofit / modernization projects.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and optimize electrical, mechanical, and sensor systems.
  • Configure and calibrate hardware parameters to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work with software development teams to provide sustainment and configuration tools to first and second level maintenance partners.
  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot RF installations, particularly NFC, Bluetooth and UWB implementations.
  • Design monitoring workflows, and interpret performance data from electrical, mechanical, and sensor systems.
  • Consult on network topology design for on-premise sensor systems.
  • Serve as the site contact for new projects, initiatives and support requests, with escalation contacts available remotely.
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of wired and wireless communication protocols that link sensors and devices.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and setting up complex device networks.
  • Strong technical writing skills and documentation for service technicians.
  • Experience with monitoring tools designed for electrical and mechanical systems and sensors.
  • Knowledge in debugging low level scripting, in languages such as Bash, Golang and Python.
  • Ability to set up and refine alerts for system anomalies.
  • Understanding of security protocols for hardware systems, ensuring data integrity and protection against unauthorized physical and non-physical access.
  • Capable of identifying root causes in large-scale distributed systems
  • Proficient in UNIX/Linux administration, troubleshooting, and security
  • Leading technical projects and ensuring smooth delivery
  • Readiness to be on-call for emergencies, addressing system failures, or malfunctions outside standard working hours.
  • Serve as escalation contact from a holistic ecosystem level with a full understanding of the usage and end product delivered from systems in their domain.
  • Working knowledge of electrical installation requirements for low voltage and line voltage systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital signage technologies and video signal systems.
  • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy implementations, devices and knowledge of general Bluetooth principles.
  • Experience with deploying and expanding large scale device networks.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $138,900 to $186,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
