Job Description:

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology

Technology is at the heart of Disney’s past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney’s media business globally.

The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company’s media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.

Here are a few reasons why we think you’d love working here:

  • Building the future of Disney’s media: Our Technologists are designing and building the products and platforms that will power our media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.

  • Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney’s technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company’s brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News…and many more. These products and brands – and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry – matter to millions of people globally.

  • Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.

Commerce, Data & Identity (CDI) provides the core product management functions for areas crucial to Disney’s media businesses. These include initiatives and products that power digital commerce, identity, and growth, as well as those that reach uniquely across The Walt Disney Company enterprise, such as messaging and privacy, among others. Additionally, it is responsible for the data engineering, science, and products for Disney Entertainment & ESPN, along with their interconnection with other parts of The Walt Disney Company.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Payment Resiliency Product Manager to join our global Payments and Fraud Product Team at Disney Streaming. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our payment systems across multiple markets and payment methods. You will act as a payments subject matter expert, deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations, incident management, and performance monitoring of our payment stack.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze global payment performance across processors (e.g., Adyen, WorldPay, Fiserv) and alternative payment methods (e.g., PayPal, Apple Pay, PIX, etc.)

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and implement observability tools, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms.

  • Lead the triage and resolution of payment incidents, coordinating with engineering, product, and external partners to ensure rapid mitigation and root cause analysis.

  • Continuously improve the Payments Product team's operational excellence metrics, specifically focusing on reducing the mean time to detect and resolve payments incidents and issues.

  • Serve as the operational authority on payment flows, authorization logic, 3DS2, retries, and fallback strategies.

  • Maintain strong relationships with PSPs and APM providers, ensuring SLAs are met and issues are escalated appropriately.

  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and playbooks for operational processes and incident response.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in payment operations or payment systems, ideally in a high-volume, global B2C environment. Subscription experience is a plus.

  • Deep understanding of global payment processing, including card networks, APMs, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2).

  • Hands-on experience with payment service providers such as Adyen, WorldPay, Fiserv, and APMs such as PayPal, Apple Pay / Google Pay, and PIX.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with tools like Datadog, Looker, or SQL-based dashboards. SQL proficiency preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability of collaborating with a diverse set of partners and experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the streaming, subscription, or digital media industry.

  • Familiarity with payment processing, orchestration, tokenization, and payments retry logic.

  • Passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
