The successful candidate will come to the table with a good measure of technical experience, a strong educational background, and an ardent drive for continuous self-improvement. This position is for an Operational Technology (OT) Systems Engineer proficient in PLC/SCADA industrial control systems in a Theme Park or similar industrial environment. This also includes basic OT networks, and Windows/Linux system administration.

This is a 24-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement. This is a fully onsite role in Anaheim, CA reporting to Senior Manager-Sustaining Engineering.

What You Will Do

Work with the larger Attractions Systems, Cybersecurity, Sustaining Engineering, WDI and Engineering Services Teams at the Disneyland Resort to:

  • Support the commissioning, deployment, configuration and ongoing sustainment of the Attraction Data Acquisition (ADAQ) systems in the attractions and related Resort systems.

  • Serve as an advocate for data-driven attraction reliability by working with the Scientific Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, and Sustaining Engineering teams to identify candidates for analysis across many attractions.

  • Document systems and procedures; create training materials; elevate best practices across teams.

  • Collaborate closely with network engineering, Cyber Security and controls teams to ensure reliable, secure, and maintainable OT integrations.

  • Work individually with minimal supervision while coordinating work schedules with partners as an integral part of a team.

  • Able to occasionally work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings. This includes off-shifts, weekends, and holidays at times or in areas that could include dark spaces, elevated walkways, and industrial environments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, and Siemens, using platforms like ControlLogix and TwinCAT.

  • IP network fundamentals and troubleshooting skills; ability to comfortably work with network engineers.

  • Experience with configuring Windows/Linux based servers and virtual machines.

  • Ability to review and understand electrical drawings, including wiring, network interconnect, and assembly drawings.

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Strong communication skills that can build consensus across teams.

  • Strong training and teaching skill sets that can be leveraged to elevate the larger team of resort engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience commissioning SCADA systems.

  • Programming experience Python and/or C# programming languages.

  • Scripting experience (bash, cmd, PowerShell, etc.).

  • Knowledge of Apache NiFi.

  • Experience writing and executing test plans for machinery or software.

  • Knowledge of project management tools, such as JIRA.

  • System performance analysis skills to ensure requirements are satisfied.

  • Prior experience in an entertainment venue or attractions/theme park industry OT systems.

Education

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related software engineering field.

  • Preferred: MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related software engineering field.

  • Preferred: Certifications including Net+, Security+, Manufacturer certifications, or other relevant certifications.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $107,100.00 to $130,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
